5) Masada, Ein Gedi, and the Dead Sea
“And unto the Reubenites … I gave from Gilead even unto the valley of Arnon… the Arabah also, the Jordan being the border thereof, from Chinnereth even unto the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea” (Deuteronomy 3, 17).
The Dead Sea area isn’t only a place to relax, this location is full of beautiful nature, wonderful hikes, and amazing historical sites. In this tour I will take you to the main parts in the region. The day begins driving through the Judean desert on the way down to the Dead Sea.
- Masada – We ascend with a cable car 1,200 ft and visit the amazing fortress built by King Herod. We will discover the findings from the rebellion against the Romans and enjoy the unbelievable view of the Judean desert.
- Camel ride – optional
- Ein Gedi – The day continues at this amazing oasis to which King David escaped when he ran away from King Saul. We will go on a small hike, refresh ourselves in one of the water springs, and visit the 1,600-year-old synagogue.
- Dead Sea – Finally, we’ll relax at the lowest place on Earth. Swim, float and try the Dead Sea mud that will clean and rejuvenate your skin.
